An exciting week at IISc Bangalore as we go thru the prep training on LAM’s SEMIVerse Solutions and SEMulator3D!
Yes- that is me, kitted in the Personal Protective Equipment (or, PPE) looking like an alien from outer space.
I must start by applauding IISc Bangalore and its highly motivated team for curating a wonderfully detailed excursion thru their labs as we participated in the growing of a transistor on a virgin 4” wafer coupon.
I have gone through these training and related experiences before at IIT Bombay, at AMAT and at a customer site.
I must credit Team IISc for their exceptional recognition of safety in semiconductor processes, their discipline to maintain a safe and clean workplace. They clearly outscored most of the other sites I have engaged with.
Passion of Dr Amresh, Rashmitha, Poojitha, Himaganga, Sridevi and Kumar was inductive as they brought the nanoworld to life in their characterization lab. The care with which Rekha ji, Priyanka, Saleem and others handled the processes at the wet lab and the furnaces had to be seen to be believed.
I remember Prof Srinivasan Raghavan’s presentation at MEITY on his GaN proposal ; Professor Navkant Bhatt’s proposal for MEMS and Professor Rudrapratap’s championing of the original CENSE.
It has been a pleasure and a privilege interacting with these visionaries as the dream of India as a semiconductor nation is shaped up.
