Sky is the limit…Asli Udaan hai baki…

Applied Materials is honored to receive the Electronics Maker award for the Most Innovative Company in the year 2022. I received the award on behalf of the corporation – and in my crisp message to the industry -I just spoke the following emotive lines:

अभी तो असली उड़ान है बाकी,

अभी तो जिंदगी का इम्तिहान है बाकी;

अभी तो नपी है मुट्ठी भर जमीं,

अभी तो पूरा आसमान है बाकी!

(We I still have to take the real flight; We still have to take the life’s exam- We have but measured a fist-full of earth – We still have to conquer the whole sky)!

For the Indian Electronics sector, we have had some success – the real opportunity, the real test is still to come…These thoughts were presented by AMAT Country President, Srinivas Satya, at the Electronica CEO forum at India Semiconductor Conclave. With its aggressive incentive policy, the focus of execution shifts to the industry. And opportunities exist not just in the Semiconductor manufacturing but also in the related upstream supply-chain.

Applied Materials has grown in step with the Indian electronics sector – in some sense, leading the growth curve with employee base rising from 1600 to 7000 over the last few years. And, still, the best is still to come. As India creates its semiconductor manufacturing industry, as its semiconductor supply-chain ecosystem builds up and its innovation system enriches the lives of the future global citizens -these numbers will be just a kickstart..

As India evolves its electronics industry to establish its semiconductor industry, the real flight is yet to take off…perhaps, just round the corner…and the sky is the limit of our aspirations…
